May Day Basket Fun

Hi everyone! 

It’s John and I’m here to talk to you about holiday baskets. Holiday baskets are the perfect gift for someone who already has everything or for those holidays that you just don’t know what to get for them. Of course, everyone knows about Easter baskets and I’m sure everyone had plenty of those a couple of weeks ago and you may have gotten a basket or two over the past winter holiday season. 

But baskets can be given on any occasion and they will be loved. They make a great container for whatever you want to put into them. You know, stuff like little toys, crayons, and coloring books for children or knick-knacks, crayons, and coloring books for grown-ups. (Coloring is good for all of us 😊) You could also put other various items in those baskets; flowers, fruits, vegetables, treats, or our favorite, sweets!

We have yet to encounter someone who doesn’t like a little sweet treat every now and then. Especially when it’s given as a gift. So, let’s talk about one of the next holidays coming up, May Day.

So now you know about this great holiday that keeps slipping under the radar of everyone else. We enjoy dropping baskets off on door steps of our favorite neighbors and we hope that you might join us in the fun! You’ve still got a couple of days to put together some baskets and we have plenty of sweet confections to help fill those baskets.

Our Easter Basket Winner!

We have our Winner!

Congratulations to Jane Doe! Katrina and I both agree that although we got so many fantastic pictures, this was the best photo of all of them. We both thought that this photo showed how much they were enjoying a piece of our delicious toffee and we loved it!

When Jane sent in this photo she included a short description of her and her friend Mary in the shot:

“We both love your toffees! We try to stop in at least once a week and pick a couple of pieces of toffee to enjoy after our walk. We walk twice a week around one of the parks in town and always end our walk by taking a moment to enjoy our toffee together. This is how we always look as we enjoy them, eyes closed and savoring your exquisite toffees! Thank you!”

Well, we couldn’t ignore that so Jane is our winner of an Easter basket and she can stop in any time this week to pick it up. Don’t worry Jane, we’ve packed it full of our exquisite toffees!

Katrina and I will look at each and every single photo that is submitted and choose our favorite out of every picture that is sent in to us. If it turns out that we can't agree on a single photo we will declare a tie and each of the winners will get an Easter basket filled to the brim with your favorite confections from Elizabeth's Gourmet Toffees!

We will announce our choice (or choices) on Wednesday, April 12^th, 2017 so you will have time to pick up your Easter basket before the big day!

This is Katrina! I thought I would follow up John’s introduction to our little business with a little bit about myself so you can find out about both of us.

So, John and I will both be using this little blog to talk to you, our fans. And just so you know who is talking to you, we’ll try to put our name at the beginning of each of these little blogs.

First, a little about myself. Some of you might know me as Elizabeth’s Gourmet Toffees is not my first business here in town. And I can’t argue with John, I do have a sweet tooth. But then, who doesn’t, right?

As you found out from John’s blog, the Elizabeth in our businesses name is my mother. She was a wonderful woman who made candy for our family and friends every holiday. And she had a few secret recipes that she wouldn’t share with anyone but everyone liked. Now we have those recipes and a few that John has come up with himself and if I do say so myself, his creations are almost as good as my mothers. Those mango-jasmine truffles, YUUMMM! Well if you haven’t tried them yet you really need to do yourself a favor and try one tomorrow.

Discovering the Best Sweet Treats in Town!

Hi! Welcome to this wonderland that is Elizabeth’s Gourmet Toffees blog! What is Elizabeth’s Gourmet Toffees? And why do they have a blog? Good questions!

Let’s see if we can answer those questions for you. We’ll start with, what is Elizabeth’s Gourmet Toffees? We’re a company that started just a little over a year ago, making and selling the finest confections in downtown Wausau. We make delicious toffees, truffles, caramels and other sweet treats in a wide variety of unique flavors. One of our most popular flavors is our chocolate bacon toffee. Mmmm, delicious!

We named our little confectionary after our partner’s mother, Elizabeth. You see, Elizabeth always made homemade candies every holiday and well, Katrina’s got a little bit of a sweet tooth now. So, Katrina and I are making these scrumptious delights for everyone to enjoy after a hard day at work.

And as to why we have a blog? We have a blog to talk to you, our fans, and you, those who aren’t our fans yet. This is a time for us to share with you our ideas, our thoughts, and maybe a few of our recipes.

 So, come back around and check out a few more of our blogs. We may rattle on a bit but you might end up with a few new ideas, some motivation, and maybe a couple of good deals.

Join us on our trip through this internet and maybe together we’ll make our way out of this wonderland.
